As a neighbor to Walt Disney World Resort and Universal Orlando Resort, the Town of Windermere, FL, has worked for decades to protect its small-town charm and unique character from significant development pressures. The Town is centered within western Orange County’s chain of lakes and orange groves, an area surrounded by explosive growth. Wade Trim has served as the Town’s Planner since 2014, providing day-to-day and long-range planning and zoning services that have resulted in a new comprehensive plan, updates to the Town’s land development code, and analysis of potential future annexations.

Working closely with Town staff and property owners, we make sure that development and redevelopment projects are fully compliant with the Town’s land development code and comprehensive plan. Critical issues include protecting lake shorelines and water quality and maintaining consistent building design standards within the downtown design district. Established relationships with property owners and contractors have helped us provide efficient and responsive service. We also work with residents to review permits and provide information and advice on general planning and zoning issues within the Town.
