Imad Salim, PhD, PE, was appointed by Governor Gretchen Whitmer to a 4-year term on the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy’s (EGLE) Environmental Permit Review Commission (EPRC). The 15-member EPRC advises EGLE’s Director on disputed permit applications and contested permit decisions. Imad will primarily be involved in wastewater-related permits issued under the Natural Resources Environmental Protection Act.
A Senior Project Manager, Imad has worked to protect surface and groundwater quality and public health throughout his 26-year career. He has assisted utilities and municipalities with National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit-related issues including combined sewer overflow, sanitary sewer overflow, stormwater and MS4 compliance programs, and wastewater treatment plant projects. His NPDES permit compliance work includes development of programs and projects for Detroit, Cleveland, New York City, Omaha, and Pittsburgh, as well as smaller communities in Michigan and other states. He has also led high-profile stormwater projects for various organizations including the Michigan Department of Transportation and the City of Fort Worth, TX.
