To preserve and enhance the City of Miami Beachās iconic Espanola Way, Wade Trim developed a pedestrian-oriented solution that preserves the districtās Mediterranean feel while creating a unique urban area that supports businesses. Robust community engagement activities were used to gain feedback from the general public, property owners, business owners, and the City. The feedback was instrumental in developing a final design that satisfied the many constituents and guided the design team in formulating a design that was approved by the Cityās Historic Preservation Board. Our utility replacement and construction phasing approach minimized business disruption and preserved large trees. Understanding the complex nature of the site, its unique design assets, and the desires of the community allowed Wade Trim to create a dynamic urban space for this major Miami Beach tourist destination.
