Wade Trim’s Community Planning and Landscape Architecture expertise is growing in Florida with the addition of two seasoned professionals to our Community Design group in Tampa. Jeffrey Jenkins, AICP, is a Senior Planner, and Chris Thompson, PLA, is a Senior Landscape Architect. They will strengthen our ability to help communities shape their ideas into built environments for people to work, play, and enjoy leisure activities.
Jeffrey brings more than 36 years of urban planning and community development experience specializing in strategic planning, land use, and zoning. He has collaborated with large and small communities on long-range plans, including policy and regulation writing, land development codes, historic preservation, and Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) programs. Serving as an Executive Planner for Pasco County for the past 10 years, he has overseen the rapid development of one of Florida’s fastest-growing counties. Using his keen attention to detail and relationship building skills, Jeffrey will work with communities to bring their goals and visions to reality. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Geography from Indiana State University and a master’s degree in Public Administration: Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Louisville.
Chris is passionate about creating sustainable and accessible environments through design of hardscape, plantings, irrigation, lighting, and drainage. He brings 20 years of experience preparing schematic, conceptual, preliminary, design development, and construction documents for public and private projects ranging from less than one acre to several hundred acres. Chris enjoys coordinating with other disciplines and achieving efficiencies through technology-based design. He spent the last 8 years working for the City of Tampa’s Parks and Recreation Department where he managed and designed projects to maximize value within site, operation, maintenance, and budget constraints. Chris holds a bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture from Clemson University.
