Mike Demko, PE, has been appointed to the Board of Directors for the Florida Water Environment Association (FWEA). As a member association of the Water Environment Federation (WEF), FWEA is dedicated to promoting a clean and sustainable water environment through member engagement, public outreach and policy, and workforce development.
During his 2-year term, Mike will serve as Director-at-Large and oversee the FWEA’s Central Florida Chapter, new Safety and Security Committee, and the University of Central Florida Student Chapter. His primary objective is to invigorate and engage members across all sectors of the water industry, ensuring they find value in their association involvement.
Mike has been involved with WEF member organizations for the past 20 years in Massachusetts, Virginia, and Florida where he has served as Chair for the Central Florida, West Coast, and Manasota Chapters. His passion for educating and connecting with fellow FWEA members reflects his belief that their collective efforts can significantly enhance the industry’s standards and impact. “What we do is more than a job, it’s a profession,” Mike said. “We have a great community with the same goals and missions. When we come together, we can work to better the entire water industry.”
Mike is a Senior Project Manager at Wade Trim with 26 years of experience in planning, design, management, and construction of wastewater systems, water systems, and water resources projects.
